BURNS

Susan, of Roslindale passed away unexpectedly on April 25, 2026. She was 73 years old. She was the beloved daughter of the late Adele (Abraham) and Francis Burns.

Susan Burns grew up in Boston, where she lived with her parents in Roslindale. She graduated from Girls’ Latin School in Boston, and from Simmons University, with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance. She was also awarded the Helena Rubenstein Scholarship for Achievement and was a member of the Simmons Honor Academy. Susan received a Master of Science degree in Accountancy from Bentley University. She was an Enrolled Agent able to practice in front of the Internal Revenue Service. Susan worked for the Internal Revenue Service and John Hancock Life insurance Company.

Susan was fluent in the French language. She could read and write Arabic.

Her professional career spanned almost 30 years with Britt & Company CPA, LLC in Dedham. Thomas Britt, CPA, praised Susan’s work performance and personal ethic:

“We worked together for close to thirty years. She was one of the most dedicated, loyal, and hard-working members of our team. In addition, you could not find a nicer person, who would go out of her way to help you. She will be missed.”

Funeral services provided by Our Lady of The Annunciation Cathedral 7 V.F.W. Parkway West Roxbury. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery 990 Lagrange St. West Roxbury.

We are very grateful to the staff at Bridges by Epoch in Westwood for the caring, compassionate, and loving care given to Susan.

Indeed, Susan was a dear cousin to many and a friend for life. We miss her. May God rest and keep her.
