Barbara E. (Mudarri) Rainville of Oneonta, NY passed away on July 18, 2026 surrounded by her family, following a cardiac arrest at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, NY. She was 83 years old.

Barbara was born in Boston, MA on December 3, 1942, daughter of Sobhey and Rose Mudarri. She was raised on Franklin Street in Allston, MA and graduated from Brighton High School in 1960.

Barbara married Raymond Rainville on September 1, 1967. They were married 42 years until Raymond died on October 9, 2009. Barbara was also pre-deceased by her sister, Janice Tamoush, who died in August 2023.

Barbara gained a Bachelor’s degree from SUNY Oneonta in 1976. She was proud to have worked for Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan for almost 20 years as Regional Director of Central NY and was able to use her political advocacy to touch many lives. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and a dedicated and loyal friend. Her fun loving, warm personality endeared her to all. She loved to travel, spend time at the beach, enjoy good food, play card games, decorate and remodel houses, and talk with the people she loved. Barbara enjoyed an active life, full of projects, travel, and social events, until the day she died.

Barbara is survived by her three children: Michelle Thomson and her husband, Alex, of Buffalo, NY, Marc Rainville of Phoenix, AZ, and Laura Rainville of Berkeley, CA; her six grandchildren, Ramona, Evelyn and Mackenzie Thomson, Sophia Rainville-Lintner, and Lavender and Lily Rainville Potts. She is also survived by two brothers, Shelby Mudarri of East Falmouth, MA and Richard Mudarri of Wellfleet, MA.

Barbara’s Funeral Service was celebrated at The Church of St. John of Damascus, 300 West St., Dedham, MA 02026. Relatives and friends were respectfully invited to attend. Barbara will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Boston.

Arrangements managed by Kfoury Keefe Funeral Home, 8 Spring St. (at the corner of Centre St.) West Roxbury.
