Press Releases
From MassDOT:
Thank you for your continued interest in the Canterbury Street Bridge Rehabilitation project.
The bridge has been closed to traffic to ensure public safety since September 12th 2025, with all vehicular traffic detoured to Seymour Street, Rowe Street, and the Cummins Highway. At the time of the closure, MassDOT already had a design for the rehabilitation of the Canterbury Street Bridge in progress, and the 25% design public hearing for the project was held at the Brooke Charter School on the Cummins Highway just five days after the closure on September 17th.
Our team appreciates the community’s continued patience and cooperation as we advance towards advertising the project to potential contractors. Comments, concerns, or questions may be emailed directly to Roslindalecanterburybridge@dot.state.ma.us. When construction does begin, a project website will be launched to provide updates about project progress and upcoming operations. It will be announced to the public through an email (or letter) like this one. Please share this information with your family, friends, neighbors, coworkers and anyone else you think could benefit from it.
Regards & Good Wishes
-The Canterbury Street Bridge Rehabilitation Team
