Paul J. Sr., 86, of West Roxbury, Massachusetts passed away peacefully at his home on September 28, 2026.

Paul (Sonny) was born and raised in East Boston, Massachusetts, on November 28, 1939. He was the loving son of the late Joseph and Phyllis Lalicata. He was the eldest of four children, predeceased by his sister Rosalie Robicheau, his brothers Butchie and Bobby.

Paul is a beloved father of 5 children, Paul J. Lalicata Jr. and his wife Jean of Dexter, ME, Nina Lalicata-White and her husband John of Roslindale, Marie Riley and her husband Michael of Bridgewater, Michael Lalicata and his wife Joanne of West Roxbury, and Christine Quartarone and her husband Anthony of Foxborough. He was lovingly adored by his 15 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and his nieces and nephews. He is survived by his former wife Mary Ann Lalicata of Foxborough and his beloved daughter-in-law Nancy Lalicata of Roslindale.

Paul joined the U.S. Air Force in December 1956, where he enlisted as an aircraft mechanic. He was honorably discharged and took a full-time position with the MBTA as a bus driver for 25 years and retired at the age of 51.

For the past 20 years Paul had a passion for golf and cherished the camaraderie he shared with his friends at the Norwood Country Club. In addition, he was an avid bowler and racquetball player. He was a disciplined, daily gym-goer who enjoyed watching old Westerns, collecting old coins, and tending to his yard. He also loved dancing to the timeless music of old Hollywood and especially enjoyed going to the theater with his daughter, Nina.

Above all, his greatest pride and joy in life was his family. He was endlessly devoted to the people he loved and cherished every moment spent with them both at home and at family gatherings.

Paul will be laid to rest at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne on November 9, 2026, at 11:30 a.m.
